Aiko Tanabe — Personal Website
A senior product designer's portfolio grounded in trust, clarity, and civic impact.
Aiko Tanabe's portfolio reads like a working brief, not a resumé. The headline earns its weight by naming a niche — fintech and civic software built on trust — instead of hedging with generic 'I design beautiful things' copy. The floating credential card overlays the portrait, the warm cream palette keeps it from feeling corporate, and every line of microcopy is written by someone who's actually shipped onboarding flows. Built for hiring managers who skim in 20 seconds and want a clear answer to 'can this person do the job?'

Build a personal website for Aiko Tanabe, a senior product designer in Vancouver who works on fintech and public-sector products. It needs to win freelance projects and, later, a design lead role. Pages: Home with a one-sentence positioning statement and a grid of three case studies; Case studies, each structured as problem, role, process and outcome — redesigning onboarding for Pocketwise, a budgeting app (sign-up completion up from 41% to 63%); building a design system for Coastline Transit; an accessibility audit and fix plan for a city services portal; About with photo, values and how I work; Speaking & Mentoring; Contact. The contact form must store name, email, company, project type (product design, design system, audit, other), budget range and message. Look: crafted and calm — warm off-white, charcoal and a single persimmon accent, a confident grotesk for headings with a readable text face, big case-study mockups on neutral backgrounds, subtle hover states. No stock photos of sticky notes or laptops, and no filler text: write the case studies properly.
