Does it track equipment location on the job site with GPS?+
No. Kleap does not provide GPS or telematics tracking, so it will not show a live map of your machines or read location from the equipment. Instead you record which job site each asset is assigned to as a field and update it when equipment moves, giving you an allocation view rather than a real-time position.
Can it read engine hours straight off the machine?+
No, it does not connect to equipment hour meters or OBD hardware, so engine hours are entered manually, typically by the operator or mechanic. That is enough to drive hour-based service intervals for excavators and loaders, but the hours come from someone reading the meter, not an automatic feed.
How does it handle service intervals for heavy equipment that runs on hours not miles?+
Each asset uses logged engine hours plus a next-service-due-by-hours field, since plant is maintained on run hours. A dashboard can show machines approaching their interval so you service before a failure on site, and the maintenance history keeps a record for warranty and resale.
Can I track both owned and rented plant in one place?+
