What it is
A vendor-management app for manufacturing is a web-based supplier database that tracks every raw-material, component, and contract-manufacturing supplier feeding your production line. It holds their quality certifications, lead times, defect history, and approval status so the plant sources only from qualified vendors.
What your manufacturing vendor management tracks
Every field below is one you can add, rename, or remove by chatting with Kleap — a starting point tuned for manufacturing.
Supplier / part relationship
Which part numbers a vendor supplies, so buyers know the line impact if that vendor fails.
Approved Vendor List status
Qualified, conditional, or disqualified controls who may supply production parts.
Quality certification (upload)
The ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 certificate is your evidence the supplier meets a quality system.
Certification expiry date
Flagged on the dashboard so quality can re-qualify a supplier before a cert lapses.
Standard lead time
The quoted days from PO to delivery feed production scheduling and safety-stock decisions.
Defect rating (PPM)
The parts-per-million reject rate is the core supplier-quality performance signal.
Country of origin
Drives tariff, trade-compliance, and supply-risk visibility across the supply base.
Second-source availability
Marks whether a qualified alternate exists, exposing single-source risk on critical parts.
Material declarations / RoHS (upload)
Compliance docs proving materials meet regulatory and customer specifications.

Frequently asked questions
Does it connect to our MRP or ERP for parts and inventory?+
No. Kleap builds a standalone web app on its own database and does not integrate with MRP, ERP, or MES systems. You maintain supplier and part-qualification records in Kleap as an approved-vendor register, while inventory and planning stay in your existing system.
Can it alert us when a supplier's ISO certificate is about to expire?+
It flags certification expiry dates on the dashboard, so your quality engineer sees which certs are lapsing when they log in. It does not send automatic email or SMS reminders; the expiry list lives in the app for your team to review.
Can we store quality certificates and material declarations per supplier?+
Yes. Each supplier record supports document uploads, so ISO/IATF certificates, RoHS and material declarations, and PPAP paperwork are attached to the vendor instead of buried in email.
Is there a mobile app for the shop floor?+
No native mobile app. Kleap builds a responsive website that works in a browser on phones and tablets, but there is nothing to install from an app store. Staff open the vendor dashboard in a browser on any device.
