What it is

An HR dashboard tracks the workforce at a glance — headcount, turnover rate, time to hire, employee satisfaction, and absenteeism. It helps people teams spot retention risk and hiring bottlenecks before they become expensive.

What your hr dashboard tracks

Every field below is one you can add, rename, or remove by chatting with Kleap — a starting point tuned for hr.

Headcount

kpi tile

Total active employees, often split by team or location. The base figure for every other people metric.

Turnover rate

line

Employees who left ÷ average headcount, over the period. The clearest signal of retention health.

Time to hire

bar

Average days from job posting to accepted offer. A long cycle costs productivity and loses candidates.

Cost per hire

kpi tile

Total recruiting spend ÷ hires made. Shows how efficiently the team fills roles.

Employee satisfaction (eNPS)

gauge

How likely staff are to recommend the company as a place to work. A leading indicator of turnover.

Absenteeism rate

line

Unplanned days off ÷ total working days. A rising rate can flag burnout or disengagement.

Open positions

kpi tile

Roles currently unfilled. Reveals hiring load and where the org is stretched.

Offer acceptance rate

gauge

Offers accepted ÷ offers made. A low rate points to comp, process, or candidate-experience problems.

Workforce diversity

pie

Composition of the team across chosen dimensions. Tracks progress against inclusion goals.

Training completion

bar

Share of staff who finished required or offered training. A read on development and compliance.

Frequently asked questions

What metrics belong on an HR dashboard?+

The core set is headcount, turnover rate, time to hire, cost per hire, and an employee satisfaction score like eNPS. Add absenteeism and offer acceptance to catch engagement and hiring problems early. Choose the few that connect to a decision your people team is actually making this quarter.

How is turnover rate calculated?+

Divide the number of employees who left during a period by the average headcount for that period, then multiply by 100. For example, 6 departures against an average of 60 staff is a 10% turnover rate. Track voluntary and involuntary separately — they tell very different stories.

What's a healthy turnover rate?+

For most knowledge-work companies, 10-15% annually is considered healthy, since some churn is natural and even beneficial. Rates well above that signal retention problems worth investigating by team and tenure. High-turnover industries like retail and hospitality run far higher and should be judged against their own norm.

Can it pull employee data from our HR software?+

The dashboard visualizes the people data you keep in your Kleap app — headcount, departures, and survey scores entered through forms or imported from your HRIS export. It doesn't sync live with a system like BambooHR or Workday; you maintain the records in Kleap (manually or by periodic import), and the turnover, time-to-hire, and satisfaction charts update from them.
