What it is

A warehouse inventory app is a web-based database that tracks every SKU down to its bin location — recording quantity on hand, pick locations, lot numbers and cycle-count status so pickers find stock fast and counts stay accurate.

What your warehouse inventory management tracks

Every field below is one you can add, rename, or remove by chatting with Kleap — a starting point tuned for warehouse.

SKU / item code

The unique identifier for each stock-keeping unit stored in the building.

Bin / location

The aisle-rack-shelf address where the SKU lives, so pickers go straight to it instead of hunting.

Quantity on hand

Current units in that location — the number picks and receipts adjust.

Safety stock

The buffer quantity held against demand spikes and supplier delays.

Reorder point

On-hand level that triggers replenishment, tuned to lead time plus safety stock.

Lot / batch number

Groups units received together for traceability and recalls.

ABC class

A/B/C ranking by value or velocity so high-movers get tighter counts and prime locations.

Cycle-count status / last counted

When a location was last counted, driving the recurring count schedule.

Received / put-away date

When stock arrived, supporting FIFO rotation and aging reports.

Benchmarks

What good looks like for warehouse

Inventory record accuracy
97-99% is world-class; below 95% means cycle counts are overdue.
Dock-to-stock time
Hours, not days, for received goods to be counted and put away.
Order-pick accuracy
99%+ lines picked correctly is the standard for a well-run floor.

  • Generic, not shaped around warehouse

Built with Kleap

  • Free to start — no per-seat pricing

Frequently asked questions

Can it tell a picker exactly where to find a SKU?+

Yes — each SKU has a bin/location field (aisle-rack-shelf), so a quick search returns the exact address and quantity on hand. Pickers work from any browser, no handheld needed.

How do I keep inventory accurate without shutting down for a full count?+

Use cycle counting — the app tracks a last-counted date and ABC class per location, so you count a slice of high-value bins daily rather than everything at once. Filter for the oldest or A-class counts and work through them.

Does it support lot or batch tracking for recalls?+

Yes — record a lot/batch number and received date per receipt, then search that lot to find every affected unit and location if a recall hits. Entry is manual rather than scanner-fed, but fully traceable.

Do I need barcode scanners or a WMS integration?+

No — it is a self-contained web database. You enter receipts, picks, and counts through forms and look up stock by SKU, location, or lot. There are no scanner or ERP integrations, which keeps setup zero-hardware.
