What it is
A fleet management app for a courier operation is a web database that tracks every rider and vehicle, whether bikes, scooters, or small vans, along with the drivers and their documents so a same-day courier company can manage assignments, maintenance, and compliance for a fast-churning gig fleet. It replaces the messaging-app roster and paper checks most courier fleets improvise with.
What your courier fleet management tracks
Every field below is one you can add, rename, or remove by chatting with Kleap — a starting point tuned for courier.
Rider / vehicle ID
A fixed tag per bike, scooter, or van so assignments, maintenance, and document checks attach to the right asset in a high-turnover fleet.
Vehicle type (e-bike / moped / cargo van)
Distinguishes asset classes so a bulky same-day parcel goes to a van and a light city drop goes to a bike.
Zone / coverage area
Records the area a rider covers so dispatch balances riders across the city and spots under-served zones.
Courier & right-to-work / license document
Stores the rider's ID, license, or right-to-work document so a gig fleet stays compliant despite rapid onboarding and churn.
Insurance & hire/courier-cover expiry
Tracks the specific delivery-use insurance so no rider is dispatched without valid courier cover, which voids ordinary policies.
Battery / charge check (e-fleet, logged manually)
A logged check for e-bikes and e-scooters so a rider isn't sent out on a battery that dies mid-shift.
Odometer / service check (logged manually)
Logged mileage or a periodic check so brakes, tires, and chains on hard-used city bikes are serviced before they fail.
Current status (active / off-shift / bike in repair)
Shows which riders and vehicles are working right now so the dispatch board reflects real same-day capacity.
Onboarding / document-verified date
Marks when a new gig courier was checked and cleared so a fast-onboarding fleet has an audit trail of who was vetted when.

Frequently asked questions
Does it track my couriers live so I can see where every rider is?+
No. Kleap does not provide live GPS tracking, so you won't see riders moving on a map or get real-time ETAs from the app. It manages the roster and records: which rider has which vehicle, their zone and status, document and insurance validity, and manually logged maintenance and battery checks. Live positional tracking would come from a separate courier dispatch tool.
Is there a native mobile app for my riders?+
No app-store app. Kleap builds a responsive website, so riders open it in their phone browser to see their assignment and status and to log a flat tire, a low battery, or their mileage. You can give each rider a login so they only see their own vehicle, and there's nothing to install, which suits a fast-onboarding gig fleet.
How does it help me keep a high-churn gig fleet compliant?+
Each rider record stores their license or right-to-work document, courier-insurance expiry, and a document-verified date via file upload, so onboarding and offboarding leave an audit trail. A dashboard can list riders with missing or expiring documents so you deactivate them before they work uncovered, though you enter and verify the documents yourself.
Can it manage both e-bikes and vans in the same fleet?+
Yes. A vehicle-type field lets e-bikes, mopeds, and cargo vans share one list, and you can log a battery check on the e-fleet and mileage on the vans as appropriate. Dispatch can then filter by type to send the right vehicle for a light versus a bulky same-day job, all from one searchable roster.
