How to build an online store with AI
You have something to sell and no shop to sell it from.
A storefront with your products, a cart and a checkout that takes real payments once you connect your payment account.
The prompt
Paste this as-is, then change the details to yours. It is written to produce something working rather than something pretty.
Build an online store. Show products in a grid with a photo, name, price and a short description, each with its own page. Add a cart and a checkout. Group products into categories I can browse. Include a shipping and returns page, and a contact page. Clean and photo-led — let the product images carry the page.
How to get it right
- 1
Bring photographs, not placeholders
A store is judged on its product images before a word is read. This is the input that decides whether the result looks real.
- 2
Describe your catalogue structure
Say how products group — by type, by collection, by size. Retrofitting categories onto a flat list is more work than asking for them.
- 3
Connect payments before launch
A checkout that cannot charge is a checkout that loses the sale. Connect the account, then place one real order yourself.
- 4
Write shipping and returns honestly
These are the pages people check before a first purchase from someone they have not bought from before.
What it will not do
- Payments need your own account. That is a feature: the money goes to you directly, and no builder should sit between you and it.
- Inventory that lives in another system — a POS, a warehouse tool — needs connecting; it does not sync by itself.
